From 1985 an early 7inch released on Beggars Banquet here's The Mutant Rockers 'Classical Scratch'. With an arrogant disregard for the standard bars and beats structure to making a record, this classical clash-up slaps symphonies around leaving the listener bemused, confused and amused. Played out often by Mike Allen on his Capital Radio show, it formed one of his regular show idents. At the time I had a love/hate of this track but now 27 years later it has aged like a fine malt whisky. Get drunk on it - or at least a little bit Brahms and Liszt. Uploaded by Richcolour
Tracklist: Handel's Messiah (hallelujah!), Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, Edward Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance Marches (Land of Hope and Glory), add any other spots below please.
(To the original publisher / copyright holder: I'd love to add a legal 'Buy' link here but can't find one anywhere on the web. I kind of guess it's fair game for me to upload this as I'm sure the original samples weren't copyright cleared, but if I'm wrong send me a take-down notice and it'll be removed. Alternatively tell me where to purchase this one legally and I'll share the link.)
